Specializing in QuickBooks Online Clean Ups

Need a certified QBO ProAdvisor to look over your books to make sure you’re recording everything correctly?  Maybe you know there are mistakes and you’d like to have your books cleaned up.  Don’t be embarrassed!  You’re already making the first and hardest step which is reaching out to someone for help.  We absolutely love a good challenge!  In the end, you’ll have books that are in tip top shape and a clean slate to start with.  It all starts with a painless Diagnostic Review.

During the Diagnostic Review, we take a detailed look into your QBO company file and look for any areas of improvement, transactions that need cleaned up and make sure you are using QuickBooks to it’s fullest potential.  After the review, you are provided a summary report detailing our findings and suggestions.  We will then be able to provide an estimate on the price of a clean up and the time it will take to complete it and get you back on the path to success.

Take a Sneak Peak at Our Diagnostic Review Process

We take a deep dive into the following areas:

  • Company Settings
  • Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations
  • Undeposited Funds
  • Profit & Loss Statement
  • Balance Sheet
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable
  • Chart of Accounts
  • Products & Services
  • Payroll
  • Sales Tax

You don’t know what you don’t know, right?  But what you don’t know CAN hurt you.  Many times, you may not know that your books have mistakes, but you’ll probably have an unsettling feeling that something is off.  If you can say yes to anything in this list, we recommend a review.

  • Your bank and credit card accounts have never been reconciled
  • The bank balance and QuickBooks register balance of your connected accounts are WAY off
  • In your QBO file, if you select “+New” and “Bank Deposit,” there are numerous transactions sitting there.  These are called Undeposited Funds.
  • When you pull a Profit & Loss statement, there are amounts listed under “Uncategorized Income” and “Uncategorized Expenses”
  • When you pull a Balance Sheet, there are amounts listed under “Uncategorized Asset”
  • You are adding deposits directly from the Bank Feeds screen
  • You are commingling personal and business expenses
  • There are known issues you don’t know how to fix
  • Payroll entries are not being broken down to account for the tax liability
  • You CPA or tax preparer has suggested a clean up

If you are a Sole Proprietor or LLC, we generally do not need a copy of your tax return.  However, if you are an S-Corp*, Partnership or C-Corp, then you are required to file a Balance Sheet with your tax return.  During the Diagnostic Review, we make sure the Balance Sheet totals on the last tax return agree to the Balance Sheet in QuickBooks for the same period.  If they do not agree, clean-up will be recommended.

*S-Corps with less than $250k in assets are not required to submit a Balance Sheet for tax purposes.

Once we receive your payment, a copy of your last tax return (if needed – see question above), and have access to your QBO company file, you will receive a Summary Report within 7 days.

The Diagnostic Review is a one-time, flat fee of $249.00.  It is a very detailed and thorough process that adds much value to your business.

Absolutely not!  Once we complete the Diagnostic Review and provide you a detailed Summary Report of our findings and recommendations, we will be glad to move forward with cleaning up your books if it is recommended.  However, you are in no way obligated or tied to a contract of any sort just because you paid for a Diagnostic Review.

The price for a Clean-Up varies because every business is different.  We factor in several things such as how far back your books need cleaned up, what year the last tax return was filed, whether you need a clean up to file an amended tax return and the amount of time it will take to clean up each item as noted in the Summary Report.  You could have just a few transactions that need attention or several years worth of transactions.  Once we complete the Diagnostic Review, we will have a better idea of the amount of time it will take to bring your books back to tip top shape.

It is necessary for me to have access to your QBO company file in order to complete the Diagnostic Review.  Please know that this does not transfer Admin rights, it only allows me to view your QBO company file with permission.  Click here to view a short video that outlines the steps below.
